A Few Words About Us

Welcome to our first blog post here on OCEANPEAKS!
In this blog post we want to introduce ourselves a little bit so you know who we are, what you can expect on the blog and what we have planned for the future -- Enjoy!
We are Nicci and Constantin, both 24 years old and from beautiful Bavaria in Germany. Almost four years ago we met through photography, fell in love and ever since spend our life with each other.
Already at the beginning of our relationship we quickly realized that we have a lot of things in common and are also united by our passion for traveling. With our VW Golf Variant, which has become our home on four wheels over the last few years, we explored our home country and used every free opportunity to travel together. We both felt a very special enjoyment for being on the road and living for the moment. We discovered our love for the simple life in harmony with nature, for hiking and getting up early for sunrises at mountain lakes.
Through photography, we found places of incredible beauty, experienced the surroundings more intensely, appreciated them even more, and captured these moments to make them last forever.
Hi, I'm Nicci!
I'm 24 years old and for the past few years, I've been living in the beautiful city of Regensburg, where I did my bachelor's degree in Social Pedagogy. During my time at the university, I spent a semester abroad in the North East of England. Already back then I only had one thing in mind - to get out and travel, explore the world with my camera in my hands, get to know new cultures, meet people, and be inspired by the little things in life. As an open-minded person loving life, I'm always looking for new adventures -preferably to spend my time somewhere by the sea, on mountain tops or lakes, in rainy hills or snow-covered places.
Hey there, I'm Constantin!
I am a photographer from a small village deep in the middle of Bavaria in Germany. Ever since I was a little kid I dreamed of exploring the big wide world, beyond the horizon of this small german town. With meeting Nicci and finding a passion for capturing moments with my camera, I got to the perfect combination of making these dreams come true. As a big fan of outdoor sports, such as hiking, rock climbing, or skiing, I am always open to crazy adventures and love a good story to tell afterward.
Besides that, I study UX design at an online university and love coffee with good company.
You may be wondering what the story behind the name of OCEANPEAKS is. But that is quite simple to answer:
Nicci prefers everything about the ocean. The smell of salty air and the sound of crashing waves is where she feels at home, while Constantin likes the quietness of mountains. Steep cliffs and fresh air, where looking at simple rocks makes you realize how powerful our nature is. If you put these two parts together, you get the places where we prefer to spend our time -
you'll find us somewhere between ocean blues and mountain peaks.
For a long time, we waited for a perfect moment to dare things, to dive into unknown adventures and constantly we waited for something that didn't come. We noticed that our list of things we really wanted to do in our lives was getting longer and longer, and the desire to explore more of our wonderful world even bigger.
Nicci now has a degree in social pedagogy and Constantin can study from all over the world, which makes us more flexible than ever. When we realized that, we knew we don't want to wait for a better moment, so we booked a ticket to the other side of the world - to New Zealand! So now, in September 2022, it's time for us to seize the opportunity, pack our backpacks, and hop on the 40-hour plane. Together in a foreign country, far from home, with uncertain adventures, photography as our companion, and a heart full of wanderlust we start a new chapter of our life --
our chapter of Living Life.
